"Interior design involves more than just creating a good-looking space that impresses clients. It means having a complete understanding of the purpose of the project and a thorough knowledge of a client's budget, lifestyle and future plans."

Color-Rich Ashland
This house was environmentally-engineered within the pine and evergreen trees of the Southeastern foothills of Ashland. The fall colors in this woodland scene served as the palette that was applied in different hues throughout the house. Inspiration for these colors came also from a photograph by Christopher Burkett, whose works are displayed in galleries worldwide.

Rarely does the opportunity come along to build a house and then furnish it all with new furniture and accessories.

We began by selecting natural stone, which the interior's textiles would later imitate, and implemented this into the

fireplace, countertops, flooring and baths. The home's light fixtures were constructed of hand-wrought iron; some of which included a distressed patina of copper.

The furniture is an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary and includes pieces made from woods such as teak and maple as well as natural fibers like rattan and woven grass. One-of-a-kind pieces were created from hammered, distressed copper for accent tables and hand-wrought iron to resemble bamboo. Sofas and loveseats were custom-built to personal dimensions and specifications down to the smallest element of exotic wood buttons for the back cushions. Rich-colored silks were fashioned into dramatic draperies and shades.

The dominant color of the cabinetry is cherry with several other wood "colors" introduced with the homeowner's own woodwork creations specifically created for the home's leftover spaces.

An open flow of the living spaces and its connective décor makes it a great house for entertaining and comfortable living.
